TRACKER® Deep V boats are built to deliver toughness and the wave-crushing performance needed to take on bigger waters. Each hull in the Deep V lineup is made for smooth, easy tracking, even in chop. This is thanks to the hull design that slices through waves at the bow, then flattens them aft for maximum stability that also yields even greater storage inside. In addition, they are designed with deep, comfortable cockpits for safety in rough waters. They also come factory rigged with a Minn Kota® trolling motor, aerated livewells, Lowrance® fishfinder, Mercury® outboard and custom-fit trailer. Are your captain's duties split between fishing and family fun? Combo model fish-and-ski boats offer a family-friendly option that deliver creature comforts for all-day fun in addition to the features the angler in you craves.

TRACKER aluminum deep v boats are designed for running in choppy water conditions that are characteristic of large, windy bodies of water such as the Great Lakes. The type of fishing that is common in those environments includes walleye fishing, muskie and pike fishing, smallmouth bass fishing, and much more. High gunwales and deeper cockpits make a safe and dry platform for anglers and other passengers to ride in when fishing out on rolling, open water.
A boat is classified as a deep V based on the shape and angle of its hull. The defining feature of a deep V hull is its deadrise—the angle of the hull's bottom from the keel. The deadrise of a deep v typically ranges from at least 21 to 26 degrees along the entire length of the hull. This creates a pronounced wedge shape that allows the boat to cut through waves more effectively. The design is particularly suited to perform in open waters and rough conditions, where the ability to slice through waves reduces impact and provides a more stable ride when moving quickly. The deep V hull form, combined with turned down chines helps to channel water under the boat, enhancing its ability to handle larger waves and swells. It is why it is a preferred choice for northern fishing and choppy, big water environments.
The design of a deep v hull gives it clear advantages when running through big, choppy water at higher speeds. The v wedge efficiently slices through waves for a smooth and dry ride, but getting up to speed is the key, which may require a higher horsepower outboard. At slow speeds or at rest, deep v boats may feel less stable because they are more susceptible to rocking with waves. The same goes in calm waters. Passengers will feel more rocking than they would in a mod v or flat bottom boat with little or no deadrise. Deep V boats will typically have a deeper draft as well, so they are not as well suited for shallow water.
